Osteoporosis

A variety of medical specialists treat people with osteoporosis, including Gynaecologists, Endocrinologists, Rheumatologists, Orthopaedists, and Geriatricians. Osteoporosis is a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue, typically as a result of hormonal changes, or deficiency of calcium or vitamin D. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine. It’s most common in older people, although young people can suffer from it as well.
