Professor Jeffrey Zajac has 35 years experience in clinical endocrinology. He is the Director of the Department of Endocrinology at the Austin Hospital and Head of Medicine at Austin Health. He is a past president of the Endocrine Society of Australia. He trained at the Austin and Repatriation Hospitals, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Prof Joseph Proietto, Endocrinologist in Ivanhoe and Vermont South, VIC, Australia.
Joseph Proietto is Professor Emeritus at the University of Melbourne in the Department of Medicine Austin Health and an Endocrinologist specialising in Diabetes and Obesity. He established the first obesity clinic in Victoria at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is now Head of the Weight control clinic at Austin Health.
Professor Proietto was the inaugural Sir Edward Dunlop Medical Research Foundation, Professor of Medicine, and Head of the Metabolic Disorders Research Group in the Department of Medicine, Austin Health. He is currently on the executive of World Obesity and is Chair of the Clinical Care Committee.
Professor Proietto has published over 200 articles and several book chapters on obesity and diabetes. He is the Author of Body Weight Regulation: Essential Knowledge to lose weight and keep it off


Dr Katherine Bate
Dr Katherine Bate, Endocrinologist in Ivanhoe and Vermont South, VIC, Australia.
Dr Katherine Bate graduated with MBChB from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1991. She completed her specialist qualification as an endocrinologist and general physician in 1998, before undertaking a PhD studying the basic mechanisms contributing to the development of Type 2 diabetes.
Dr Bate works at three public hospitals (Austin Health, Mercy Health and the Royal Melbourne Hospital) as an endocrinologist, general physician and obstetric physician. She also teaches medical students and has an honorary position at the University of Melbourne. She is a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
In her private practice at the Endocrine Specialist Centre, Dr Bate welcomes referrals for a wide range of endocrine issues including:

Dr Adam Hedley is a Nephrologist specialising in Renal Medicine in IVANHOE, Melbourne Australia.

Dr Adam Hedley is a Nephrologist practising in Melbourne's north-east. He has a special interest in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), including all management options for CKD (dialysis and transplantation), together with its associated complications, in particular of cardiovascular disease and renal hypertension.
After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1996, Adam undertook Physician training at St Vincent's Hospital before completing his Nephrology training at The Royal Melbourne and Austin Hospitals in 2004. He has undertaken further research; obtaining his PhD from The University of Melbourne, investigating the heightened cardio-vascular disease risk experienced by patients with CKD.
Adam currently has appointments at both Austin and Northern Health as a Consultant Nephrologist. He is involved in the management of patients with CKD (including those on dialysis and with kidney transplants) as well as resistant hypertension. Adam is actively involved in research (hypertension in the obese and cardio-vascular disease in CKD patients) as well as the education and mentorship of future Nephrologists.


Dr Clement Lo
Dr Clement Lo, Endocrinologist in Vermont South, VIC, Australia.
Dr Clement Lo is a general Endocrinologist based at Monash Health where he provides both inpatient and outpatient care to patients with diabetes and endocrine issues. At Monash Health, he helped establish the Diabetes and Kidney Service where he is the Diabetes clinical lead. He also manages patients with obesity as a member of the Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism Unit. In addition, he is a research fellow at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, and sits on the Medical, Educational and Scientific Advisory Committee for Diabetes Australia.
Dr Lo is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and trained in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Obesity at Austin Health and Monash Health prior to completing a PhD concerning health-care improvement for Diabetes and Kidney Disease at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University.
He is committed to quality patient-centred medical care, and is involved in both doctor and patient education.

Dr Yin Khet Fung
Dr Yin Fung, Endocrinologist in Vermont South, Vic, Australia
Dr. Yin Khet Fung graduated from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1996. He continued his physician training in the UK and received the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2000. He returned to Malaysia in 2001 and started his service with the Malaysian Ministry of Health and completed his post-graduate training in Endocrinology in 2006. He was the Head of Endocrinology for the state of Sabah, Malaysia, and a mentor in the Endocrinology Fellowship training programme with the Ministry of Health Malaysia before moving to Australia in 2020. He worked at the Austin Hospital as a clinical fellow in Endocrinology. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (UK) and Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
