about Dr Preethi Nagubandi
Dr. Preethi Nagubandi is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist based at St John of God Hospital, Murdoch. She has a strong belief in patient centred care, individualising treatment and involving women in all aspects of decision making.
Preethi grew up in Sydney and graduated medical school with Distinction from the University of Newcastle. She completed six years of specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology before working as a consultant at both King Edward Memorial Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. Preethi has a special interest in urogynaecology and completed a urogynaecology fellowship through Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in London.
Preethi holds a Masters of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney and has authored guidelines, publications and has reviewed textbook chapters.
Preethi also contributes to the wellbeing and education of her junior colleagues. She is a clinician mentor and an adjunct clinical senior lecturer with Curtin University. She is also a training supervisor with the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). In 2020, she received the King Edward Memorial Hospital Camille Mitchener Clinical Teacher of the Year Award as well as the Mentor of the Year Award. In 2021, she was nominated for the RANZCOG Wellbeing Award.

Preethi has worked in major teaching hospitals, regional hospitals and rural hospitals across New South Wales, Perth and London. She is comfortable managing both low and high-risk pregnancies and pregnant women of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. She provides comprehensive care, from preconception counselling right through to birth and postnatal care.
She provides a personalised approach and respects birth choices with a focus on achieving the safest outcomes for women and their babies.
Gynaecology
Preethi provides an extensive range of gynaecological services. She has a special interest in urogynaecology and has completed a urogynaecology fellowship through Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in London.
