Dr Gideon Sandler is a Surgical Oncologist, Endocrine Surgeon, and General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital, the Childrens Hospital at Westmead, and Westmead Private Hospital. He is the founder of Sydney Surgical Oncology, and brings a wealth of expertise to cancer care in Australia. Uniquely positioned as Australias only Surgical Oncologist fully engaged in both adult and paediatric cancer treatment, Dr Sandler has particular interest in the co-ordination of complex oncological operations involving multiple surgical teams.

He has specialty expertise in soft tissue sarcoma, endocrine tumours including those of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal gland, advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and salivary gland and lymph node surgery, particularly in children. He is the only high-volume thyroid surgeon in Australia with fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Surgery in both General and Paediatric Surgery.
