Dr David Wetherell

Dr David Wetherell is an internationally trained Melbourne urologist, dedicated to minimally invasive robotic and laser surgery, including Retzius-sparing robotic prostatectomy and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). His practice philosophy is a patient-centred approach that maintains integrity, safety and modern surgical innovation.

He began his medical training in the UK before moving to Melbourne in 2010. He worked in surgery at Austin Health before joining the Urology Department as a research fellow, completing advanced prostate cancer research at the University of Melbourne and earning a Doctorate of Medical Science (DMedSci). After completing urology training in Melbourne, he undertook advanced fellowship training in robotic cancer surgery at University College Hospital, London, focusing on complex prostate and kidney cancer procedures. His practice covers all aspects of general urology, with particular expertise in robotic prostate cancer surgery, kidney stone management and treatments for prostate enlargement.
