About Me
Dr Brendan Dias is a Melbourne trained Urologist and Renal surgeon committed to providing care in all areas of general urology. Dr Dias has a subspecialty interest in Uro-Oncology, Minimally invasive surgery, Vascular access surgery, Male and female reconstructive and functional urology.

Dr Dias is one of the few Urologists who holds specialist qualifications from three different countries. He holds the diploma of the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Urology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England (FRCS) in Urology and holds a doctorate of the National Board (DrNB) in Urology from New Delhi, India.

Dr Dias can converse with patients in Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.

After graduating from medical school, Dr Dias completed a rigourous residency training programme in General Surgery, Urology and Renal Transplantation. Following completion of this training, he completed an advanced Robotic Fellowship at the OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium under the mentorship of Professor Alexandre Mottrie, a world renowned robotic Uro-Oncologist. Dr Dias moved to Australia and undertook further fellowship training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Western Health, Melbourne in Renal transplantation, advanced laparoscopic Uro-Oncology and EndoUrology.

Dr Dias is a clinical lecturer in the department of surgery, University of Melbourne. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and co-authored a book chapter on the Surgical approach to robot assisted prostatectomy in kidney transplant recipients.

Dr Dias has been providing Urological services to Melbournes Western and North-western metropolitan region through his public appointment at Western Health. He has pioneered the development and implementation of Day Case surgery for benign prostatic enlargement (Day Case HoLEP) at Western Health and is committed to the delivery of evidence based urological and renal services to his patients.
