Dr Au is a specialist Ophthalmologist in Australia & Singapore with expertise in performing complex cataract & Laser Refractive Surgery. He completed a Complex Cataract fellowship at The Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital (RVEEH). He has refined the Double Chop technique under topical anaesthesia allowing patients a rapid visual recovery. Dr Aus extensive experience in managing difficult Cataracts & complications assures the best possible management & outcome even in unforeseen circumstances.

Dr Au is also able to offer Laser Refractive surgery (LASIK, SMILE & PRK) for Myopia/Hyperopia management & is one of the first three surgeons to offer PRESBYOND laser for Prebyopia management within Australia. Laser Refractive treatments are available exclusively at Eye Laser Specialists clinic. He also offers ICL(Intraocular Collamer Lens) surgery for those not suitable for Laser Vision Correction

Dr Au has global experience across a broad range of ophthalmic specialties. Originally from Toronto, Canada, he completed his undergraduate training in the UK at St George's, University of London (formerly known at St George's Hospital). He then moved to Singapore and completed his ACGME-I accredited ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He then pursued a fellowship in Complex Cataracts at RVEEH and concurrently obtained his FRANZCO accreditation. Dr Au has also undertaken observerships in the United States, Canada and Singapore with various eminent ophthalmologists. He is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Theory) with Ulster University

Dr Au is currently the Victorian Representative of the RANZCO Younger Fellows Advisory group & Consultant at Eastern Health

He was the former Clinical Lead of the Acute Ophthalmology Service and Senior Consultant at RVEEH
