Dr Anisha Sarkar

Dr Anisha Sarkar is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist with a broad range of expertise in general gynaecology, paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, and transgender and gender-diverse health care.

Having completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University, she pursued advanced training at some of Australias leading tertiary hospitals, including the Royal Womens Hospital, The Mercy, and the Royal Childrens Hospital.

Through these diverse placements, she developed a deep understanding of reproductive health across all life stages. Her approach blends technical precision with genuine empathy, ensuring that each consultation prioritises the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of care.

Dr Anisha has also undertaken advanced training in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at the Royal Childrens Hospital, where she refined her expertise in managing menstrual and pubertal disorders, Müllerian and obstructive anomalies, and gender-affirming care.

Dr Anishas clinical interests and areas of expertise include:

• Menstrual irregularities and abnormal bleeding
• Contraceptive counseling and management
• Colposcopy and cervical screening abnormalities
• Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, including hysterectomies and the management of benign conditions such as ovarian cysts, pelvic pain and endometriosis excision.

• Supportive care for transgender, gender-diverse, and non-binary individuals
