Des graduated from his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at University of Melbourne with first class honours and went on to an advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease fellowship in the UK before joining GSC in 2023.
 
He has a strong commitment to research, has been widely published in medical journals, and presents at national and international conferences.
