about Dr Tom Ward
Dr Tom is a triple fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, with subspecialty expertise in Robotic Knee, Hip & Trauma Surgery.
Toms subspecialty training was at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospitals, & in Canberra with Prof Paul Smith.
As a dual trained Orthopaedic Surgeon & Engineer, Tom is passionate about providing outstanding care in Robotic Arthroplasty to help patients regain their quality of life.
A Rhodes Scholar, Tom holds top honours degrees in medicine from ANU, & in engineering from QUT, with a university medal.
In 2005, Tom was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Knee Replacement Research from the University of Oxford. In 2009, Tom was recognised as the Outstanding Young Alumnus of QUT, & was a Young Australian of the Year finalist in the ACT Beyond his clinical work, Tom has contributed to Prosthetics & Orthotics training in Cambodia since 2000, & has consulted internationally for McKinsey & Company, in both the USA & the Middle East.

- Hip: Pelvic trauma, primary, total, and revision hip replacements, including the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA).
- Knee: Robotic-assisted knee replacements.
- Lower limb injuries including arthroscopic, reconstructive procedures and trauma of the knee and fractures.
