Dr Iruka Kumarage completed his specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the UK & proceeded to advanced training in urogynaecology & pelvic floor surgery.
Along with 20 years of experience in both obstetrics & gynaecology, he provides pregnancy care (including high risk obstetrics) at St John of God Berwick Hospital.
Under Gynaecology, Iruka looks after women of all age groups with menstrual problems, pelvic pain (including endometriosis & ovarian cysts), contraception needs, colposcopy, menopausal issues, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility issues, urinary incontinence & vaginal prolapse. He performs a wide range of gynaecological surgery including minor (Hysteroscopy, D&C, LLETZ, cone biopsy etc.), intermediate (Operative laparoscopy for endometriosis & ovarian cysts, procedures for urinary incontinence etc.) & major surgeries (Laparoscopic/abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, repair of vaginal prolapse)
