
about Dr Thomas Carins
Dr Thomas Carins is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and pelvic floor surgeon who lives locally in the Bendigo region. He delivers care with a consistently compassionate, patient-centred approach, tailoring management to the individual needs of each patient.
Thomas completed his internship and residency at Austin Health in Melbourne, prior to moving to Gold Coast and Brisbane to undertake obstetrics and gynaecology training. He returned to Victoria and completed his advanced training in gynaecology in Bendigo in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Urology departments. He has completed advanced training in robotic surgery, laparoscopy, colposcopy, and female pelvic floor surgery. He has completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Floor and Reconstructive surgery to become an advanced female pelvic reconstructive surgeon. He has also completed clinical observerships in Female Pelvic Reconstructive surgery in New York, California and Auckland. He has a keen interest in vaginal and minimally invasive surgery to aid with recovery.
Thomas operates privately at St John of God Bendigo, and has public appointments at Bendigo Health, Castlemaine Health and Echuca Regional Health. He also regularly undertakes aid trips to South Sudan, to help surgically repair patients with birth trauma, prolapse and fistula.
