Dr Hamish Shilton

Dr Hamish Shilton is a General Surgeon with international subspecialty training in Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgery, including sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. He works across both the public and private healthcare systems, consulting and operating across South East Melbourne and Gippsland.

He completed his medical degree at Monash University and trained in General Surgery through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons training program, based at Monash Health, before completing two years of post-fellowship subspecialty training in Upper GI surgery at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand, and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, UK. He has extensive training in minimally invasive surgery, performs procedures laparoscopically or robotically wherever possible, and is one of a small number of surgeons in Australia to have performed a robotic oesophagectomy.
