Mr Adrian Aitken

Mr Adrian Aitken is a senior, experienced specialist general surgeon and the owner of Fitzpatrick House in Sale and the Bairnsdale and East Gippsland Medical Centre. He has worked at all public hospitals in Gippsland, has acted as chairman of hospital medical staff groups, and was a formative executive member of the Regional Medical Specialists Association. He is broadly skilled and performs a wide range of operations, including keyhole laparoscopic operations, and is certified and re-credentialed in both gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

As well as operations under general anaesthetic, he provides many advanced procedures under local anaesthetic, including carpal tunnel decompression, selected Dupuytren's hand surgery, minor cosmetic procedures and selected complicated operations for melanomas and skin cancers. He works in concert with Melbourne teaching hospitals and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and can rapidly arrange tertiary care when needed for advanced clinical conditions.
