About Dr Kavita Kumareswaran
Dr Kumareswaran undertook specialist training in New Zealand and the UK. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012. Kavita completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2012. Her research focussed on testing a closed loop system of insulin delivery in people with type 1 diabetes. This artificial pancreas uses real time continuous glucose monitoring to automate insulin pump delivery. Kavita has an ongoing appointment as a visiting endocrinologist at The Alfred Hospital, where she established the insulin pump clinic, and continues to consult in the diabetes outpatient clinic. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals, received a number of research awards and presented at international medical conferences. She is an Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University, and is involved with ongoing diabetes clinical research. She is committed to delivering exceptional care that is evidence-based. She engages patients to take an active role in managing their health. She provides continuing, long-term support and care for all of her patients.

She consults at three convenient Melbourne locations: Malvern, Prahran and Melbourne CBD. She is able to offer both in person and telehealth consultations to patients in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
