Dr Sanjay Adusumilli

Dr Sanjay Adusumilli is a General and Colorectal Surgeon employed in the Sydney West Area Health Service. He also operates at the Lakeview Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and the SAN. He performs surgery on both public and private patients.

Sanjay performs surgery for both general surgical conditions and colorectal disorders. He has training in robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery and is able to perform surgery using minimally invasive techniques. He also performs gastroscopies and colonoscopies. All his cancer patients are discussed at multidisciplinary team meetings.

He endeavours to see all referrals within 10 days.

Sanjay has completed a Masters of Surgery at the University of Sydney. He has published on numerous topics including colonic bleeding, faecal incontinence, obstructed defecation and single incision surgery. He has been asked to perform reviews for journals, as well as being invited to present at conferences both in Australia and overseas. Sanjay is actively involved in teaching medical students and surgical trainees.

Sanjay was involved in the establishment of the Western Sydney Pelvic Floor Clinic at Blacktown Hospital. He is also a cofounder of the Global Medical Foundation Australia (www.gmfaustralia.org.au), which is a charity that raises funds and provides medical services to third world countries. Each year Sanjay travels overseas to perform this work.
